Preparing your taxes means trusting us with some of your most personal information. This policy tells you, in plain terms, what we collect, why we need it, who sees it and how we look after it. It covers gp4tax.com, our client portal and our mobile app (together, the “Services”), run by Global Prime Taxation, LLC and our sister companies GP Tax Solutions Ltd (Canada), GPT Consultant – FZCO (UAE) and GP Tax Solutions Pvt Ltd (India) (“GPT”, “we”, “us”).
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, mobile number and password when you create an account.
- Tax information and documents: the forms and documents you upload or send us (for example W-2, 1099, 1098, identity documents for ITIN applications, prior-year returns) and the information needed to prepare your returns, including Social Security numbers or ITINs for you, your spouse and dependents.
- Messages: information you send through our contact form, email, phone or WhatsApp.
- Job applications: your details and resume if you apply through our Careers page.
Information from sign-in providers
If you choose to sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft, that provider shares your name and email address with us, and confirms that your email address is verified. We do not receive your password for that account, and we do not request access to your contacts, files, calendar or any other data in it.
Information collected automatically
- Sign-in records: each time you create an account, sign in or reset your password, we note when it happened and the IP address, browser, type of device and time zone used. This helps us spot anyone trying to get into your account.
- Cookies: only the ones the site needs to work, such as keeping you signed in. None are used for advertising or to follow you around the web.
- Spam protection: our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real visitors apart from automated programs.
2. How we use your information
- To prepare, review and file your tax returns and related forms, and to represent you before tax authorities when you ask us to
- To create and manage your account and sign you in
- To communicate with you about your returns, documents, payments and questions
- To process payments (card and PayPal payments are handled by PayPal; we do not store card numbers)
- To keep the Services secure, prevent fraud and spam, and meet our legal and professional obligations
- To review job applications
Your information is never sold, and we don’t use it to advertise to you.
US law (Section 7216 of the Internal Revenue Code) strictly limits what a tax preparer may do with your return information. That’s why we ask you to sign Form 7216 consent before we use or share it for anything beyond preparing your return.
3. Information from Google, Apple and Microsoft sign-in
We use the name and email address shared by your sign-in provider only to identify you, sign you in, create your GPT account if you don't have one, and contact you about your account and our services.
Global Prime Taxation's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use information from Google, Apple or Microsoft to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide the Services, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you.
4. How we share information
- Tax authorities: the IRS, state tax departments and, for India tax services, the Indian tax authorities, when we file returns or respond to notices on your behalf.
- Our team across our offices: your file may be prepared or reviewed by GPT staff in the United States, India, Canada or the UAE. All staff are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Service providers: companies that help us run the Services, such as hosting, email delivery, payment processing (PayPal) and website security (Cloudflare), who may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- When the law requires it: for example to answer a court order, or where sharing is needed to protect our clients, our team or others from harm.
5. International processing
Our team works from offices in the United States, Canada, the UAE and India, so your file may be worked on in a country other than the one you live in. The same confidentiality rules and security measures apply in every office.
6. How we protect your information
Everything you send us travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Inside GPT, only the people working on your file can open it, and sign-ins are checked for unusual activity. You play a part too: keep your password to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. We’ll act on it quickly.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your account and tax records while you’re a client, and afterwards for as long as tax and professional rules require us to keep them. Sign-in records are kept only as long as they’re useful for keeping accounts safe.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can see the personal details we hold for you in the client portal, under Personal Settings. To change them, call or email us and we’ll update them.
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account, subject to the records we must keep by law.
- If you signed in with Google, Apple or Microsoft, you can remove GPT's access at any time from that account's security settings. This does not delete your GPT account; contact us if you also want it deleted.
Send any of these requests to consult@gp4tax.com. To keep your information safe, we may first check that the request really comes from you.
9. Children
Accounts are for adults (18 and over). We only hold information about a child when a parent or guardian gives it to us for a tax return, for example to claim them as a dependent or apply for their ITIN.
10. Changes to this policy
When our services or the law change, this policy may change too. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised, and if a change affects how we use your information in an important way, we’ll tell you by email or in the client portal.
